Material Exploration (Transparency)

For this piece I took clorox toilet gel and poured this transparent liquid over a sheet of clear bubble wrap, than I took a close up picture and got that shiny marble effect.

This is a Process Image of the work .

For this next piece on the left The one on the top is the Final product. For this piece I took a picture of a drink threw another transparent drink. The image on the bottom is a process shot.  But I used  the transparent elements to distort my image.

For this work, I was still expermenting with transparent liquids , and put transparent orange soap in this transparent box, and shook it up to see how the bubbles would form and what it would look like.

For this work I had decided to play around with clear soap , water and sequins.  What I did for this piece was to pour soap down than sprinkle a few sequins over the thick water than cover it with water, creating the illusion of floating sequins. This work is also using transparent liquids. The image to the left is a larger scale shot.

Floating sequins on Savory Soap.

For this piece, I actualy used the transparent elements of the bottle to help show the wax that was poured over top of the bottle. This created a crazy line shape with the wax, which is visible through the bottle. Below I have posted a few more images of this piece.

For this transparent work, I decided to work with the different elements of liquids, so I took two transparent liquid soaps, one a clear thick handsoap, and the other a concentraited blue laundry soap. As I poured the two together I thought It was going to layer, and I would layer the colors, but after I poured the laundry detergent into the hand soap, it started to Sink and float in the center of the  other soap. To the Left and below are a few more shots of this work.

For this Work I decided to work with more transparent soaps, and I started to layer them, until I decided to experiment and see that would happen if you dripped hot wax into cool soap, would it cool down really fast and build up, would it sink and cool at the same time, I was not sure until i did it and this was the result. Below I have a few more images of this piece.

Lastly for this work I placed sequins in this clear sphere, and added water and soap to see these sequins float. I did a similar piece like this but this is different because it hangs, and can be seen through the light.

Material Exploration (Gravity)

For this work I decided to use  a black background along with the elements of fire and gravity to help me create this work. For this piece I lit three candles  and let them drom to the paper, as I lit the candles one by one, the wax started to later over eachother as it fell down the paper creating this water effect, which was caused by gravity.

For this work I took a canvas and glued a packet of Crayola Crayons in color order to the top of the canvas. Than I used a hairdryer to heat up and melt the wax, causing gravity to force the wax to fall down the canvas.

For this piece I lit a Red candle in this old liquor bottles, and let gravity and the element of fire melt the wax down and around the bottle creating this crazy layering around the top of the bottle.

For this work I poured yellow hand soap and blue laundry detergent on a sheet of bubble wrap, and than as I picked it up the colors started to run down the plastic. The use of gravity gives this picture the sence of motion.

For this work I decided to do something different and hold the burning candle in the same sopt, thus causing the burning wax to build up and create these long gravity effects.

For this work I used a white background to see how different the contrast was between layering the drips from three candles. I did the same process as I did for the first gravity piece.I just used gravity to create the effect of faling watter on a page using wax as the medium.

For this piece which actually hangs on the wall. I started by glueing a bunch of green yarn together in a ball. Than I took a candle and let the hot wax drip on the ball of yarn until it was covered  and you could see the free forms that it created using gravity.

This is actually one of my favorit pieces, For this piece I took a candle and let it drip and run doen this plastic transparent bag. Than I hung it on the wall over a pink fabric tapistry  creating this transparent ripple effect.

Material Exploration (Eradication/Erasure)

In these pieces I continued this similar procedure from creating my tape works. For these pieces I just layered tape upon tape upon tape. Different from my tape works, I decided to stick with two different colors, Than I did the same process of carving away the top layer of tape so that the second layer would be able to show threw. I really enjoyed creating these pieces, and that is why I decided to continue this technique of cutting out tape over layered tape.

Material Exploration (Wood)

For these designs, I took popsicle craft sticks and a glue gun and started creating these random designs. Some of the works represent my symetrical side and are very percise, while others are wild and were created with more of a natural feeling such as my tree. And lastly I spray painted all of these pieces, because I feel like they are more unified if they matched.

Material Exploration (Tape)

In these pieces I just layered tape upon tape upon tape. As I would layer the tape I incorperated different design elements and colors of tape, so that when I started to carve away the top layer of tape than the second and third layers of tape would show threw. I really enjoyed creating these pieces, and just did many random designs that came to me.
